Welcome to 2020! New year, new you, new resolutions. We’re hoping that one of your New Year’s resolutions is to travel more and that Reno Tahoe is on the top of your list. We understand that sticking to those other resolutions can be tough, so we’re here to show you how to have fun in 2020 while not completely giving up on your New Year’s resolutions!
The “Personal Finance” Resolution
Whether you want to beef up your savings account or set money aside to buy a house, spend less and save more is always a top resolution. Here are a few ways to save money while in Reno Tahoe.
Who doesn’t like Happy Hour? Cheap drinks and delicious bites, happy hour is the best of both worlds. Check out a few of our favorite happy hours.
Reno Tahoe is home to endless amounts of free fun! Enjoy a self-guided art walk through downtown Reno, or venture out on one of our many area hikes. On the second Saturday of each month, the Nevada Museum of Art offers free admission (and the restaurant inside has a killer happy hour). Take advantage of Reno’s proximity to the Lake Tahoe area ski resorts and their Fly In & Ski deals. Many of the resorts will offer you a free ski pass the same day you fly into the Reno Tahoe International airport. How can we leave out events? Reno is home to some of the most unique and coolest events in North America, and a lot of them offer free admission and activities. You’ll definitely want to check out the Reno River Festival, Northern Nevada Pride, Artown and the Great Reno Balloon Race to name a few.
Lodging is definitely one of the more expensive parts of a vacation but lucky for you Reno Tahoe remains affordable with an average hotel rate hovering around $100 a night. Other ways to save money are to travel mid-week or during the off-season. With more than 300 days of annual sunshine, there really isn’t a bad time to visit Reno Tahoe.
The “Live A Healthier Lifestyle” Resolution
This is going to be our healthiest year yet! We are going to work out all the time and only eat whole meals! We love your ambition but are fully aware of the woes that come with trying to eat healthily and stay active while on vacation so we are here to help.
If you’ve decided today is your cheat day, we have the perfect itinerary for you. But if you want to keep true to your new healthy eats lifestyle we have compiled the ultimate list for you. Whether you’re looking for soup and salad or need a place that caters to your plant-based or gluten-free diet we have you covered.
Get In Shape
This might be the easiest (and most fun) New Year’s resolution to keep while in Reno Tahoe. Active is basically our middle name. Get your heart racing as you ski or snowboard the epic Lake Tahoe terrain. Engage those quads as you climb to the summit of a mountain or ride the single track. Get your steps in while taking insta-worthy pictures with art pieces straight from the Playa. Are you a runner? Take a run-cation and sign up for one of our half marathons or rally the troops and challenge yourself to the 178-mile Reno Tahoe Odyssey. You won’t have an issue staying active in Reno Tahoe.
The “Live Life to the Fullest” Resolution
You’re already fulfilling this resolution by booking a trip to Reno Tahoe. This is a destination where you can do anything and be anything. If that means you want to conquer The Wall at Kirkwood, then do it. If it means finally buying your ticket to Burning Man and experiencing all that is the Playa, then do it. In the end, this one is all about you. Getting outside your comfort zone and always reaching for new experiences.
